If you are a matriculated undergraduate or graduate student at Rutgers University, you are eligible to enroll in Rutgers–New Brunswick Summer Session courses through WebReg, beginning on Monday, February 10, 2025.
Summer Session allows Rutgers students to fulfill prerequisite or degree requirements, engage in a research and travel experiences, or earn credit through internships. Summer Session has flexible schedules and formats to help you make progress toward graduation while enjoying your summer.

Academic advisors can assist you in better understanding your options for the summer, and what course(s) may help you meet your academic goals.
- Plan Ahead and Choose Wisely
Summer course sections fill quickly, so prepare accordingly on what courses you need to take. Check your course section dates carefully to avoid conflict as the WebReg system does not recognize summer schedule conflicts. It is also important to note that Summer Session is an accelerated term and courses meet more frequently than during the academic year.

The policies and deadlines for Summer Session are distinct from the fall and spring semesters. Before enrolling in Summer Session, be sure to understand that there are unique dates to your class section, including section dates, the change of course registration period, withdrawal and cancellation deadlines.All students are expected to carefully read, understand, and comply with the detailed policies and deadlines that govern the session.

Summer credit loads vary from school to school at Rutgers. For example, School of Arts and Science undergraduate students typically are allowed to take no more than 12 credits in the summer.
We advise all students to confirm your allowed credit load with your school or academic advisor.

If classes have not yet begun, you may visit WebReg to change your course. During the change of course registration period, you may visit the Registrar's Office to change your course.
If there is a special circumstance and you would like to change a course after the add/drop period, you must apply for an appeal.

On-campus housing is available for Summer Session students. Housing applications are available after April 1. Visit Residence Life for more information or to apply.
