If you are a matriculated undergraduate or graduate student at Rutgers University, you can be eligible to enroll in a Rutgers–New Brunswick Winter Session course through WebReg. Students must have an established GPA of 2.0 or higher to register.
First-year students, for whom the fall semester is their first term of their enrollment, are not eligible to enroll in Winter Session.
Winter Session provides Rutgers students with an intensive, exciting academic experience in an accelerated format to help you make progress toward your degree over the winter. Students can fulfill a prerequisite or degree requirement, engage in a travel experiences, or focus on challenging courses. Courses are available in online and hybrid formats for flexibility during the winter break.

The policies and deadlines for Winter Session are distinct from the fall and spring semesters. Before enrolling in Winter Session, be sure to understand that there is no add/drop period for the term. Be sure to understand the policies and deadlines for cancellation and withdrawal.

A full-time academic load in Winter Session is a single course for up to 4 credits.
Rutgers first-year students for whom the fall semester is their first term of enrollment are not eligible to enroll in Winter Session.

If classes have not yet begun, you may visit WebReg to change your course.
After the final day to add a class, there are no options to change your course, only to withdrawal from the course.

If you need to obtain a Special Permission Number (SPN) for a course, please contact the offering department directly to see if an SPN is available for the course, as our office does not handle SPNs. Please note, SPNs are assigned based on seniority, amount of cumulative credits, and availability.

If you plan to park on campus this winter, you must purchase a parking permit. Visit the Parking and Transportation Office for more information.
